PRESS RELEASE:  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON D.C. (DECEMBER 31, 2013)—The United States chapter of the All Pakistan Muslim League has vigorously called attention to the unconstitutional treatment of former President Pervez Musharraf in the most recent run of false allegations against him.

Members of the United States chapter of the All Pakistan Muslim League have written thousands of letters to US Congress members calling for support and denouncing the upcoming trial as an unconstitutional vendetta against the former president of Pakistan.

The now dubbed “treason trial” is due to start on Wednesday, marking the first time that a former military chief or head of state has been tried in a court of law in Pakistan.  It is clear mistreatment by the current Pakistani government, with overreaching that leads to a violation of the country’s constitution.

Pakistan’s current government has a vendetta against former President Pervez Musharraf, launching numerous cases against him since his arrival in the country.  All cases were without merit and did not hold water.  This is another one in the same line of vindictive allegations with no bearing.

The leadership of the United States chapter of the All Pakistan Muslim League has organized a day in January 23, 2014 to meet with various Congressional leaders and relevant committees in Washington DC to urge them to condemn the unconstitutional and vindictive actions of the current Pakistani government against former President Pervez Musharraf.
